There is no doubt that when students return to school, they will have significant learning, social-emotional, and health needs that teachers, schools, and districts will struggle to meet without support from the federal government.
While the emergency funding Congress has already allocated is helpful, it falls far short of what schools and students need. With state budgets being decimated and school districts stretched to the breaking point, Congress must step up.
Send a direct message right now to urge your Members of Congress to include $250 billion in additional stimulus funds for education. These funds must also be distributed in an equitable way as students of color and students living in poverty have been hit the hardest by this pandemic.
